I’ve never been able to get into the blogging thing. But I’ve been trying for MONTHS. I guess that isn’t that long…but now I realize that the entire time I was creating different blogs I was focusing on the wrong aspects.
Design is secondary.Content is most important. I would spend days looking for the right look before I even started writing. Maybe if this was a website I designed or a photo blog then that would be understandable.
You don’t NEED a theme. Now, I’m no expert, but not every succesful blog needs a theme. Believe it or not, you are the theme. So when I made a “morning criticism blog” designed around pancakes, and a soccer blog, I often let myself down because when I had an urge to say something, I couldn’t fit it into my theme, so I was actually distancing myself from, well, myself using a theme.
This new blog’s theme is called thetomsmith theme.
If you build it, they will come. Not, If you start to build it, they will come and watch you build it. I wanted readers and tons of comments every day. It’s good to want and have goals, but when I didn’t have these things I lost motivation. Something has to be complete, and I mean really grown up, before others will take notice. Just like nobody buys unripened fruit. Wow… terrible analogy. OK I’m done.
